Wichita, KS January 13, 2014 – Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc. has promoted Marcus Wilkerson to Director of Sales. Wilkerson will manage sales for all SBI broadcast and web properties, including KWCH 12, KSCW, KDCU, CatchItKansas.com, and Max Relevance (the company’s in-house digital advertising agency).
Wilkerson was an original employee of KSCW when it went on the air in 1999 under Banks Broadcasting. KSCW was acquired by Schurz Communications, Inc., the parent company of SBI, in 2007. Wilkerson has held several management roles with SBI, including regional/national sales manager and most recently local sales manager for KWCH 12.
“Marcus has great market experience and solid relationships with advertising agencies in our community. No one knows our sales strategy better than he does,” said Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc. General Manager Joan Barrett.
Wilkerson replaces Shawn Oswald, who recently left to become the General Manager of KHBS/KHOG in Fort Smith and Fayetteville, Ark.
SBI is the parent company of KWCH 12, KSCW, Catchitkansas.com, and digital agency Max Relevance. SBI also operates the Univision affiliate, KDCU.
