Effective 2012, Schurz launched a broad Human Resources focus across the organization. Marty was named to lead the service as Vice President Human Resources and Administration. He is responsible for providing strategic HR leadership throughout the organization through the development of human resource policies and practices which reflect the corporation’s values and support its business strategies. He also continues responsibilities for the design and administration of Schurz’ employee benefit plans. Marty serves on, and is an inaugural member of, Schurz’ strategic planning, acquisition, and employee benefits committees. He chairs the employee benefits committee. Marty leads a team of seven HR Business Partners and an HR support team of seven. Marty reports to Schurz’ President and CEO.
Marty began his career with Schurz in 1988 to form an internal audit function and was named Corporate Controller in 1995 and Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2004. Prior to joining Schurz, he was senior auditor with Clark Equipment Company in South Bend. Marty is a CPA with an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University.
