The Bloomington Herald-Times won three awards, including a first in the Editorial Excellence competition, in the Inland Press Association Newsroom contest.
The Editorial Excellence award went to Editor Bob Zaltsberg and editorial board member Rebecca Troyer for a series of five editorials.
Dann Denny won second in the Personality/Individual Profile category.
Third place in Investigative Reporting went to Michael Malik.
The Herald-Times was competing in the category for newspapers with circulation of 10,000 to 25,000.
