Pat Beane is the new sports editor at the Bloomington Herald-Times, Editor Bob Zaltsberg has announced.
Beane is a veteran Herald-Times editor, having worked in the sports department since 1990. He’s a native of Kokomo, Indiana, and has a degree from Indiana University.
Beane won’t be the main columnist but will be responsible for the overall sports coverage of the Herald-Times.
He has been designing the front page of the Herald-Times sports section for 20 years.
Beane notes that a lot has changed in the newspaper industry since he graduated from Indiana University in 1987. ‘We’ve gone from delivering news one way – the newspaper,” he said, “to not only though it, but also through our Webv site (HeraldTimesOnline.com) and high school and IU blogs and through our phone (HTO Mobile).
