The Gaylord Herald Times’ editorial department received six awards in the Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA) 2010 Editorial Contest. The Central Michigan University Hall of Fame organizing committee has named Jeremy Speer, editor of the Gaylord Herald Times, the 2011 Young Journalist of the Year.
Speer, a 2005 Central Michigan graduate who majored in journalism, was promoted to editor in Gaylord in April after serving as the paper’s sports editor for nearly six years.
