Mishawaka, Indiana (May 9, 2023) – Schurz Communications, Inc. (“Schurz”) is pleased to announce that Ramona Heine and David Olivencia joined the Board of Directors on April 1, 2023. They are both accomplished in their careers and bring much knowledge and expertise to the Board.

RAMONA HEINE
Ramona Heine

Ramona is a founder and shareholder of Heine & Kim Fiduciary Partners LLC, a professional director services business. She currently serves as a director on several Cayman and US based investment funds and as a non-executive director on the international corporate board of MUFG Investor Services, which is under the umbrella of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. From January 2017 through 2018, Ramona was Chief of Staff to UBS’ Fund of Hedge Funds Business, Asset Management’s Products areas, the Investment Specialists organization, as well as UBS’ Asset Servicing business.

Prior to that she was responsible for UBS Asset Management’s global Product Strategy, global Pricing, Proprietary Capital as well as product development and mandate solutions for the Investment Manager (manager of the A&Q product range), the single manager hedge fund business (UBS O’Connor LLC), the UBS infrastructure as well as the Private Equity fund businesses. She was also responsible for the ongoing servicing and management of the joint venture relationship between the Investment Manager and the UBS Wealth Management channel in relation to product features and service level agreements; and prior to that, she was responsible for the set-up and launch of products, advisory relationships and customized solutions relating to hedge funds and fund of hedge funds for the A&Q product range, which included solutions for both institutional as well as private clients.

Prior to joining UBS in 2007, Ramona ran the product development and business strategy for both hedge funds and structured products at Threadneedle Investments Ltd. in London. Prior to joining Threadneedle, she worked at Coronation International Ltd. in London where she oversaw Product Development and Client Services of the fund of hedge fund business. Ramona began her career in 1996 at Commerzbank, in Frankfurt, Germany, where she had several responsibilities, including as an analyst on the asset allocation team in the wealth management division and as a product developer in the asset management division.

Ramona was born in Germany, and has twin daughters, Alexa and Kristin, who are still attending school.

DAVID OLIVENCIA
David Olivencia

David Olivencia is an accomplished global technology executive and author with deep experience delivering measurable business results for leading organizations. Effectiveness has been demonstrated executing outcomes as a CEO, board member, thought leader, and energetic team coach.

David is the CEO and Co-founder of Angeles Investors. Prior to Angeles Investors, David held various senior executive positions of increasing responsibility at Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (NTT), Ford Motor Company, Oracle, Verizon, Softtek, and Accenture.

David has leveraged his expertise in technology, business strategy, digital platforms, and networking excellence as an early stage/Angel investor in 70+ companies. This portfolio includes three unicorns and ten that have garnered more than $100m in valuation.

David is a sought-after speaker for his perspectives on Technology Disruption, Early-stage Investing, Networking excellence, and Leadership issues and has presented in prominent forums including the U.S. Congress, National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), NASDAQ Opening Bell, Great Minds in STEM, BusinessWeek, and Comcast Newsmakers.

David has been recognized as 40 under 40 by Crain’s Detroit Business, Crain’s Chicago Tech 50, and Hispanic Business Magazine’s Most Influential Hispanics in America.

From a board service perspective, David has served on many private, civic, and non-profit boards throughout his career. He currently serves as a board member of Schurz Communications, Old Plank Trail Bank, N.A a Wintrust Bank (NASDAQ: WTFC), Window to the World Communications: WTTW Chicago, Angeles Investors, IrishAngels, and the National Museum of Mexican Art.

David earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (#1 Undergraduate Engineering Program by U.S. News and World Report) and received the school’s 2014 Alumni Career Achievement Award. He earned his M.B.A. (graduating cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame, where he was recognized with the 2007 Distinguished MBA Alumni Award. In 2020, David received an Honorary Doctorate from Bentley University. Additionally, David has completed the Harvard Business School Corporate Governance program and has completed his Certificate of Director Education from the NACD.

David is married with three children. He enjoys spending his free time running, fishing and with family.
